From Nothing to Something

Mike Anderson's story is New Jersey's story. Raised by a nurse and labor union leader after losing his father at age five, Mike grew up in Plainfield's public schools with the values of hard work, community, and justice instilled from the start.
A Harvard graduate in Government, Mike went from Wall Street to social impact investing, becoming an internationally recognized civil rights advocate. His landmark legal victory against Whole Foods and tireless work for consumer protection have changed lives across the district.
As a father raising multilingual children with his wife—a first-generation American from Colombia—Mike understands the immigrant experience, the housing crisis, and the economic struggles facing families today. He's a proud survivor of the working poor who knows the journey from food stamps to philanthropy.

"Career politicians have ignored the working families of NJ-12 for too long. It's time for community-rooted leadership."
